“Our nr. 1 family hotel”

Date of review: 3 Apr 2011 (source: tripadvisor)
Very clean, spacious rooms, a delicious breakfast buffet, great location in the beautiful city of Ostend, parking space.. this hotel has it all! Ever since we first came here (in 2003) we just keep on booking here. Very satisfied.

“A great base for a euro trip”

Date of review: 28 Oct 2010 (source: tripadvisor)
I think the people who are complaining about the food need to think about where they are. If they left the hotel and walked for five minutes they would be tripping over gorgeous restaurants, that serve local cuisine and are inexpensive. The breakfast on offer is no different to that served at any continental hotel (the plasticky looking cheese is like leerdamer we have in the uk, not to everyones taste but then neither is red leicester!) the rooms are clean and spacious. Tea and coffee facilities are not a normal thing on the continent and you can have tea with your breakfast or use the machine in reception anyway. The hotel is close to the main parts of the city so perfect for looking round after you have come back from somewhere. At the end of the day a hotel is somewhere to lay your head on holiday, and if you want to spend more time sitting around in it then you should really be at a resort. For what you would need this hotel is great, I love it and look forward to going to it and Oostende in general every year, I've been five years running and november 2010 will be my sixth.

“Great experience!”

Reviewed 11 July 2011 (source: tripadvisor)
We booked through Jetair (Belgian touroperator)
Great reception and warm welcome
Nice hospitality
For the kids: a very interesting place to stay because of the nice playroom
Room (for us a familyroom) is very good: large, spacious and in a nice modern interiour.
Great situation, close to the beach and all major touristic sites
Bar was a bit dark, but drinks are OK and prices are avarage (so not hyper-expensive as in some other hotels)
We will surely come back another time!

"Comfortable"

Feb 8, 2012  (source: tripadvisor)

The Ostend Hotel in Ostend is located in the city and is well on foot from the train station (approx. 15 min), or by tram. I had booked a package with a single room and half board. Of report reception was friendly and helpful. The room was adequate standard of the hotel. Unfortunately, the use of the sauna is no longer free (as announced). Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and tasty. To my package were also various entries, a tram day pass and a bicycle for one day (because I'm Nich wheel, they exchanged my voucher at the reception for an admission to the museum around).

“Excellent family suite”

Reviewed 18/8/2011  (Source: Tripadvisor)

Due to a mix up by our travel agent (not the Ostend Hotel), on our first night at the Ostend Hotel we were placed in a very small second floor bedroom - in fact it was the tiniest room we had ever experienced on our travels! I would not have liked this room for the duration of our stay.

Thanks to the hotel for sorting out our correct room, a very spacious family room on the third floor. This was so much better! It had a very comfortable central seating area, a fridge and lots of space. Such a massive contrast the room on our first night's stay. This room was excellent.

Ostend Hotel is very well situated for the town, beach, harbour area and trams. It has a great family area with two bouncy castles, which our nine year old son Callum really enjoyed each evening.

Breakfast sees a wide buffet choice of cereals, juices, rolls, croissants, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, coffees, teas and hot chocolates. Evening meal, again buffet style, provided soup, a salad based starter, a choice of two hot dishes, and a great selection of ice cream. The food was good, but not noteworthy or remarkable.

The hotel is very clean, the staff helpful and pleasant. Shared areas are a little dark, although well kept.

It made a fine base for our four night stay in Ostend. We would stay here again - as long as we had a family suite.

My boyfriend went to this hotel a few times with his parents when he was younger. In May 2010 we spent 1 night there to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We had a wonderful two days and regretted not having booked for a longer stay. The weather contributed to this, it was a nice 25 °C so we could really...
